Background:
Mary Howard CofE (VC) Primary School was founded in the 1850's in the old school house situated next to the present school which was opened in 1915, to which a mobile classroom has since been added. The school grounds were recently developed and now include a patio, stepping-stones and a water feature. Pupils take part in out-of-school activities and the school has a netball and football team, which both recently achieved second place in a local tournament. It has a wide variety of extra-curricular activities including football, netball, drama, art and craft. The school has strong community links with the Holy Trinity Church and the Friends of Mary Howard raise money to enhance the curriculum. The school aims to foster a Christian spirit of community where children learn to work, play and cooperate together.
