Background:
Opened in 1938, Kingsmead Technology College is a county maintained mixed comprehensive school.The college is well resourced. It includes a large well-equipped library with a wide selection of books and a recently extended learning resource area, equipped with the latest computers. It also has a large sports hall, 10 modern ICT rooms and specialist rooms for each subject area. A wide range of extra-curricular activities are offered at lunchtime and after-school. These activities include netball, hockey, athletics, soccer, cricket, cross-country running, rounders and tennis. There is a wide range of visits which support the various subjects, some local, others much further afield. The school aims to be a caring and happy community where each individual is supported and encouraged.
