Background:

Founded in 1939, the school occupies a 'small site' with a detached playing field in a semi-rural location. It is a small, community-based school, with 'high standards both academically and behaviourally', where both staff and students alike demonstrate 'team commitment'. Endon High offers a range of sporting activities, in addition pupils have the opportunity to become involved in the an annual school show and concerts throughout the year. Students of all ages go on a number of residential trips annually, such as a French exchange, an outdoor activity week, weekend theatre trips and a ski trip. The school has strong links with the community, which allows the pupils to become involved in local projects. Children with special educational needs are assisted by two full-time specialists and four learning support assistants in small teaching groups. Additional support is given on an individual basis as necessary and pupils are able to make use of specialist reading rooms. Endon High also has facilities for the physically disabled.
